In 2010 the building sector of the Samara region has started to leave crisis gradually. It was advantaged by supporting enterprises of a building complex on the part of the Government of the Samara region through providing with government orders.

The investment project of building of the ice sports palace “Lada-Arena”, realized in Togliatti, could be considered as one of the most expected. For inhabitants of the Samara region it is not only a modern sports arena, but an object giving a chance to the Togliatti team “Lada” to play in Russian elite hockey as well.

One of the investment projects of big social and economic importance realized in the Samara region is building of the residential microdistrict “Krutye kluchi” in Krasny Pakhar settlement in Krasnoglinsky district of Samara City District.

Among the most interesting and socially significant investment projects of an economy class habitation building in the Samara region is construction of a low-rise residential area “Beryozovka” in Vyselki village in Stavropolsky municipal district.

On November, 23rd, 2010 within the scope of work of the Presentation forum of investment projects, organized by the Administration of Samara City District, a round table discussion on the theme of “The city – an integrated investment platform”. Its own vision of perspective directions for Samara development under the changed social and economic conditions was demonstrated by the Center for Strategic Research “North-West” Foundation.

On November, 23-24 in the Samara exhibition center “Expo-Volga” here was held the Investment projects presentation forum “SAMARA INVITES 2010”, which became a kind of dress rehearsal before the Municipalities’ investment projects regional forum in December.

In early November, a press conference with participation of the new Head of Samara City District Dmitry Azarov, his First Deputies Victor Kudryashov and Yury Rimer, as well as the Head of Finance Department Andrey Pryamilov took place. Working out of a strategy of Samara development was one of the press conference subjects.

On October, 17th, the 18th International architectural festival “Zodchestvo-2010” finished its work in Moscow. The Samara exposition caused a great interest of participants and visitors of the festival and was awarded by its organizers.

Creation of Multipurpose state and municipal public service centers in Russian cities is one of the Concept of the Russian Federation administrative reform priorities. Currently MPC’s are created and successfully functioning in several big Russian cities.

According to the Department of economic development of the Administration of Samara City District, in the first half of the year 2010 in comparison with the same period of 2009 in the city economy a positive dynamics practically in all basic social and economic indicators was marked.

The most important result of the Forum “New City” is a statement of a new approach contribution towards life of the city.

Within the frame of “NEW CITY’10”, an action-shop FORMULA TOGLIATTI is scheduled, its purpose is to imbed racing trajectory of WTCC into the “city body” to create an active event-based infrastructure and to renovate a mono city.

Vladimir Gerus, a new Head of the Department of Economic Development at the Administration of Samara City District has entered upon his duties since February 2010. In his interview he told us about his vision of problems facing our city in the sphere of socio-economic development, investment politics and strategic planning.
